Diaconescu hopeful that Hillary Clinton would come to Bucharest

The minister of Foreign Affairs, Cristian Diaconescu said yesterday that he extended US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton an invitation to come to Bucharest this year, in order to attend the event that marks 150 years since the founding of the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE), and she “almost accepted,” Mediafax informs. “I want to announce you that I invited a number of colleagues from EU and NATO states. I hope they will not be upset if I make public an invitation almost accepted by Ms. Hillary Clinton, to be present in Bucharest and mark together a significant moment of this anniversary,” Diaconescu told a press conference. Diaconescu unveiled an anniversary stamp launched by Romfilatelia and inaugurated an exhibition dedicated to Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza, organised by the MAE jointly with the National History Museum.
