The ‘Golden Flute’ tour, which features Ion Bogdan Stefanescu playing on a Muramatsu flute made of 18 karat gold, accompanied by pianist Horia Mihail, reaches Bucharest with a recital held at the Radio Hall on May 2, the public radio company announces. The flute is unique in Romania and was created specially for the Romanian flutist by the Muramatsu factory of Japan, famous around the world for the quality of its flutes, but also for the fact that each of its employees must study the flute in the most important music schools of the world. The tour started Wednesday in Brasov, continued Thursday in Pitesti, Friday in Resita, has a concert scheduled in Bucharest on May 2 and will end in Caracal on May 7. In the five towns chosen for this expedition, the two musicians will play a repertory that includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonin Dvorak, Francis Poulenc, Otar Taktakishvili and Mike Mower. In Brasov, Pitesti and Bucharest, the concerts will be accompanied by flute exhibitions organised by Wiener Flotenwerkstatt.
