Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea’s players will receive on Friday t-shirts and medals for winning the women’s handball title, the team coached by Radu Voina chalking up its 18th national title. Oltchim easily won the title this year, registering only one defeat. After leg 23, Oltchim has a 6-point lead over runners-up ‘U’ Jolidon Cluj and has an extra game to play with three legs to go before the end of the season. “Mathematically they are the champions; I thought it through and I believe offering the medals and t-shirts now would have a different meaning for the girls,” Romanian Handball Federation President Cristian Gatu. At 6 PM, Oltchim will play against a team made up of former players, the proceedings set to be donated to autistic children.
