Orange Romania posts incomes worth EUR 220 M in Q1

Orange Romania had incomes of EUR 220 M in the first quarter of the year, against EUR 222 M in Q1 2011, while the customer base registered a decline of 187,000, to 10.087 million, according to data released by the French group that controls the mobile telephony operator, Mediafax reports. The average annual revenue per user (ARPU) amounted to EUR 82. Orange Romania registered 53 pc more phone numbers ported to its network in the first quarter of this year, compared to the similar interval of 2011, reads a press release. Out of the total number of Orange Romania customers, 3.195 million used internet broadband services, up from 3.148 million in the first three months of last year. The number of tablet PCs sold by Orange Romania tripled compared to the first quarter of 2011, while smartphone sales advanced by 44 pc. In a different move, Astra Asigurari and Orange launched the campaign named ‘Receive as gift the Orange discount for each CASCO insurance from Astra.’ Upon contracting the insurance, Astra customers receive a discount voucher that may be used in any Orange shop, for the purchase of one or several accessories that are included in the campaign. Vouchers are valid until 24 July 2012 and offer a discount of 10 pc or 15 pc from the VAT-exclusive price of a number of accessories on display in shops.
