Placido Domingo, live from Real Theater in Madrid, at ONB

The heroic comedy Cyrano de Bergerac (Franco Alfano) will be broadcast live at 21.00 hours from the Real Theatter (Madrid) to the Studio of the Bucharest National Opera (ONB). The show will be broadcast in High Definition.The performance is directed by Romanian Director Petrica Ionescu, who also directed Oedipus and Macbeth at the ONB. Famous tenor Placido Domingo, winner of 12 Grammy Wards, will perform the lead part. Alongside him,  soprano  Sondra Radvanovsky  will play Roxana,  mezzo-soprano Doris Lamprecht, Soeur Marthe,   and  baritone Angel Odena, De Guiche. Musical direction: conductor Pedro Halffter.ballet performance of La Fille mal gardee (Ferdinand Herold), Wednesday, May 16 (21.30 hours), will wrap up the program of live broadcasts from some of the world’s most important lyrical theaters. The performance will be broadcast live from the Royal Opera House – Covent Garden (London) to the Studio Hall of the Bucharest National Opera.The cast includes: Steven McRae (Colas), Roberta Marquez (Lise), Philip Mosley (Widow), Ludovic Ondiviela (Alain), Gary Avis (Thomas).  Musical direction: conductor Barry Wordsworth.Broadcast tickets only cost RON 45 and can be purchased at the ONB theater booth, Monday thru Sunday 9.00- 13.00 and 15.00 – 19.00 hours or online at the ONB website http://onb.operanb.ro.
