Gen Gavrila Pop is new head of Romanian Gendarmerie

Interior Minister Ioan Rus appointed Quaestor Gavrila Pop as the new inspector of the Romanian Gendarmerie, who succeeds the incumbent head, Col Angelica Gavrila, according to realitatea.net. Gavrila Pop was head of the Bucharest Gendarmerie, a position from which he was removed in Nov 2010 by Traian Igas (PDL), the interior minister at the time. Col Angelica Gavrila will go back to his previous post of head of the Dambovita County Gendarmerie Inspectorate.
