F1: Maldonado wins Spanish GP

Pastor Maldonado has become the first Venezuelan to win a Formula One race, triumphing in a thrilling Spanish Grand Prix.The Williams driver produced a brilliant performance from pole position, becoming the fifth different winner in five races this season – all from different teams. On the weekend Frank Williams celebrated his 70th birthday, his team secured their first win since Juan Pablo Montoya triumphed in Brazil in 2004. Despite taking the lead at the first corner, home favourite Felipe Massa had to settle for second place for Ferrari, while Kimi Raikkonen was third for Lotus. World champion Sebastian Vettel had to settle for sixth place after being given a drivethrough penalty for speeding under a yellow flag.
