Otopeni Airport, 58th EU-wide with respect to annual passenger flow

The Bucharest Otopeni Airport, Romania’s largest, ranks 58 in the UE according to the number pf passengers transiting it annually, behind Prague Ruzyne (Czech Republic), Warsaw – Chopin (Poland), Budapest – Ferenc Liszt (Hungary) and Larnaca (Cyprus), according to data released by the Statistical Office of the European Communities (Eurostat), Mediafax reports. The data were collected in 2010 and represent the overall number of passenger passing through EU airports. Passenger traffic through “Henri Coanda” <Otopeni> Airport exceeded 4.917 M in 2010, up 9.7 pc from 2009, ranking 58th in the EU. London’s Heathrow was the largest  European airport in 2010, with a flow of  66 M, down 0.2 pc. Second comes Charles de Gaulle Paris, 58 M passengers, up 0.5 pc, followed Frankfurt – Main (53 M, up 4.1 pc).
