The Bucharest-Ploiesti motorway, due to be inaugurated on May 15, has not been completed yet, Antena 3 reports. The new top management of the Transport Ministry formed an auditing committee that will check what has been done with this project so far. Horatiu Buzatu, counselor of the Transportation minister, recently announced that the first 19 kilometers of the motorway should have been ready since 2010, and the successive deadlines were not observed over the last two years. “Naturally, all those guilty for this situation will be sanctioned. On May 25 we will clearly know what kind of penalties and all the details that led to this serious delay,” Buzatu said. The construction of the Bucharest-Ploiesti motorway began 6 years ago, at a cost per kilometer of EUR 8.2 M. For the 60 km of motorway, the state paid over EUR 400 M during the last 7 years.
