In-coming Justice Minister Titus Corlatean stated yesterday, at the Superior Magistracy Council (CSM) meeting, that the former Government had omitted to budget the expenditure incurred by the entry into force of the new Code of Civil Procedure, HotNews quotes DIGI 24 TV as reporting. ‘There is no money provided in the budget for the entry into force of the new judicial Codes. We need to rectify the budget to allocate the financing needed for the entry into force of the Code of Civil Procedure. We will make efforts to provide it,’ Titus Corlatean told the CSM members. The minister of justice warned about the fact that the lack of funds for the new Codes was a surprise and that it contradicted the statements made by ex-Minister of Justice Catalin Predoiu. The Code of Civil Procedure is set to enter into force on September 1. Former Minister Predoiu had originally scheduled it for June 1, but the term was postponed upon the request of the courts. The entry into force of the new Codes is one of the commitments Romania has made towards the European Commission.
