Electrica’s General Manager resigns

Ioan Folescu, General Manager of SC Electrica SA, resigned last Friday, stating that his gesture is “a gesture of dignity since the Economy Ministry’s new leadership expressed distrust in what concerns his lack of involvement in politics,” a press communiqué informs. The aforementioned document also points out that in the last three years, during Ioan Folescu’s term at the helm of SC Electrica SA, both the company and the group’s electricity distribution and delivery branches registered profit, the Muntenia Nord branch standing out with a profit of 11 per cent in 2011. Contacted by Mediafax, Folescu stated that Ioan Rosca, the director of the company’s Brasov branch, has been appointed general manager. Economy Minister Daniel Chitoiu stated on Wednesday that he will replace all general managers of state-owned companies that “stole and were appointed on the basis of political criteria.”
