Adele had another one of those nights at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, taking home a whopping twelve awards including Top Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album during an evening of scorching performances by the likes of Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, a tribute to the late Whitney Houston, and a once-in-a-generation Icon Award for Stevie Wonder. Adele’s bounty on the night also included Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Pop Album, for “21,” and Top Alternative Song, for “Rolling in the Deep.” Winners of six awards, LMFAO kicked off the night by performing their trifecta of hits (“Party Rock Anthem” / “Sorry for the Party Rocking” / “I’m Sexy and I Know It”) in a neatly packaged medley complete. Coldplay and Lil Wayne had big nights as well, both earning four BBMAs, while Casting Crowns, Jason Aldean and Lady Gaga each received two awards. Lady Antebellum, Shakira, Wiz Khalifa, Beyonce, Foster the People and Nicki Minaj are among the artists who each won one award.
