Corlatean wants MCV benchmarks redefined

Justice Minister Titus Corlatean stated yesterday during his first press conference that the Mechanism of Cooperation and Verification (MCV) benchmarks should be redefined, since progress has been made in five years and Romania cannot remain “at the same framework.” On the other hand, Corlatean stated that he is expecting the European Commission’s June report to objectively reflect the progress made in Romania in these five years. At the same time, Coraltean believes that efforts have to continue “in order to have the irreversibility of this process.” In this context, Corlatean pointed out that the current government has made a commitment to finalize this process.
