Teacher stabs mother 170 times

Elena Mirela Marinescu (37), a primary school teacher in Curtea de Arges, was placed under preventive arrest on Saturday evening, being charged with killing her mother. The woman stabbed her mother 170 times. The woman has worked as a teacher for the last 14 years, is married and has a 7-year-old child enrolled in the school in which he teaches. Preliminary data shows that Elena Mirela Marinescu last underwent a psychological examination in 2010. The head of the Arges County’s School Inspectorate stated that if the teacher worked without a psychological green light then the school’s headmaster is responsible. According to Mediafax, Professor Nicolae Nita, the headmaster of the school in which the woman was teaching, stated that he is willing to resign, taking responsibility for his failure to organize psychological examinations, pointing out that he may do so after the national tests.
