PDL threatens Gov’t with criminal complaint for funds to mayors

PDL will file a criminal complaint against PM Victor Ponta for misuse of authority if he does not enact the decision of the Constitutional Court in 24 hours and does not return the money to mayors’ offices, PDL member Adriean Videanu said yesterday. In a press conference, Videanu said that the Ponta government “is playing with the law” and the premier unilaterally decided to ignore the decision of the Constitutional Court and return the money to mayors, “in the spirit of the Court decision.”Videanu warned that every citizen must abide the law, even those in high dignities, like the prime minister. According to the source, the Ponta government has a “dark record of errors, blunders and abuse” and zero achievements, one month after it came to power. PDL proposes measures and wants a public debate on this issue, he added. On the other hand, PM Victor Ponta said that the statements made by the leaders of PDL about filing a criminal complaint are a hoax and will not help the members of PDL in the local elections of this Sunday.
