On June 28 – July 1, for the fourth year in a row, the Sighisoara Film Festival invites the fans of Romanian films to attend a new marathon of locally-produced movies, which will transform the Central Square of Sighisoara into the citadel of award-winning creations by local directors and actors, while hosting meetings with the producers and students of the ‘I.L. Caragiale’ National Theatre and Cinematography University, reads a press release issued by organisers. The programme of the event includes several landmarks like: ‘Best intentions’ (Best Director Award – Adrian Sitaru, and Best Actor Award at Locarno, Switzerland); the animation ‘Crulic – The path to beyond’ (Grand Prix and Trophy of the Union of Cinema Professionals) directed by Anca Damian; the short film ‘Silent River’ by Anca Miruna Lazarescu (Gopo Best Short Film Award, Gopo Best Young Hope Award etc.) This year, the special section ‘in memoriam’ will be dedicated to Liviu Ciulei and George Constantin, and will be held in the presence of the families of the two late personalities of Romanian cinemas.
