President Traian Basescu promulgated yesterday the law on tax amnesty for civil servants forced to return the bonuses they earned in 2009 and 2010, a law from which approximately 300,000 public sector employees could benefit. On May 8 the Lower Chamber adopted, with 234 votes in favor and none against, the draft law on tax amnesty for civil servants forced to return the bonuses earned in 2009 and 2010. The MPs approved the draft that stipulates measures that concern the salary rights of public sector employees paid from the general consolidated budget, rights established on the basis of contracts or collective labor agreements and on the basis of decisions taken by local or county councils. After the vote, the representatives of parliamentary groups pointed out that voting the draft was an act of justice.
