The Public Finance Ministry (MFP) borrowed yesterday RON 465.85 M from commercial banks by issuing benchmark bonds through the National Bank of Romania (BNR), Mediafax informs. The banks’ offers totalled RON 1.25 bln, while the bond issuance had a scheduled value of RON 600 M. During the next tender, scheduled on Monday, the Treasury will put up for sale one-year bonds worth RON 800 M. 12 banks – Alpha Bank Romania, BRD Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Comerciala Carpatica (BCC), Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), Banca Transilvania, Bancpost, CEC Bank, Citibank Romania, ING, Raiffeisen Bank, RBS Bank Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank – filed bids to buy state bonds.
