Thursday, June 14, Crédit Agricole S.A. announced the signing of an agreement on the acquisition of Emporiki Bank Romania from Emporiki Bank Greece that totally owns the Romanian subsidiary, according to a bank press release. The operation is pending the approval of the National Bank of Romania. This acquisition is the last phase of a process that began in 2009 and the purpose of which was the consolidation of links between Crédit Agricole S.A. and the subsidiaries of the Emporiki Group. Over the last few years, following its progressive integration into the Crédit Agricole S.A. Group, Emporiki Bank Romania has taken over from the Group risk and conformity regulations, management standards, IT systems as well as the name which is an explicit reference to the Crédit Agricole brand. Once the operation is complete, Emporiki Bank Romania will adopt the Crédit Agricole name and the Groups’ official logo
