Romtelecom: Contract signed by TVR and Dolce Sport was approved by UEFA

The agreement that the public television (TVR) and Dolce Sport reached on how to broadcast EURO 2012 games was approved by UEFA, partnerships and cost sharing being common practices both on the Romanian and international markets when it comes to broadcasting sports competitions, a communiqué issued by Romtelecom, the majority shareholder of Dolce Sport, points out. The statement comes as the police and prosecutor’s office have started to investigate the contract through which TVR ceded to Dolce Sport some of its broadcasting rights when it came to the EURO 2012 games but also to upcoming important international competitions (including the London Olympic Games). “We publicly express our openness and availability to offer all necessary documents and information to any relevant public authority that would like to do any kind of analysis or investigation into the partnership we consider to be the correct result of commercial negotiations,” the communiqué quoted by Agerpres reads.
