Tenaris Group invests USD 60 M in Zalau

Oil pipeline producer Tenaris has finalized a USD 60 M investment in a production line in Zalau, a press communiqué informs. “The new production line will play a fundamental role in the Tenaris industrial system, supporting the energy industry. Likewise, it offers sustainability to our operations in Romania, because we’re adding a third pillar to our business,” Gabriel Podskubka, Tenaris Area Manager for Eastern Europe, stated. The new production line in Zalau has a capacity of 75,000 tons per year. The communiqué adds that Tenaris will invest another EUR 50 M in a thread rolling unit for the oil and natural gas industry. The investment will be finalized in 2013. Registered in Luxembourg, Tenaris Group owns a pipe factory in Zalau, a steel mill in Calarasi and a services centre in Ploiesti.
