PDL will have no representative in the Board of TVR

The Democrat-Liberals will challenge at  the Constitutional Court the Parliament’s decision regarding the new Board (CA) of TVR.

PDL will not be represented in the new Administration Board (CA) of TVR, under a decision made yesterday by the majority of parliamentary group leaders, who decided that the Board will include three representatives of PSD, three of PNL one of UNPR and another of UDMR.The leader of PSD deputies, Valeriu Zgonea announced that “75 pc of parliamentary groups are represented in the future Board of SRTV, except for that particular parliamentary group that nominated the chairman and majority of the Board which led TVR to bankruptcy,” Zgonea explained. Asked by journalists about why PDL will have no representative in the Board of SRTV, he answered: “The regulation provides that the committee of leaders, the majority establishes the algorithm for nominating these proposals. The large majority of the leaders’ committee, over 75 pc, made this decision: one place for UNPR, one nomination for UDMR, three for PSD – which it had – and three for PNL. I comply with the leaders’ decision,” Zgonea answered. In retort, PDL will appeal in the Constitutional Court against the Parliament’s decision, “which does not correspond to the political algorithm,” the leader of PDL deputies, Mircea Toader said yesterday, unhappy with the fact that his party will not be represented in the Board. After the meeting of parliamentary group leaders, Toader mentioned that the decision which removes PDL from the Board of the public television is a political move. “They (the USL representatives) said that <<we hold the power and we decide>>,” Mircea Toader mentioned. Under the algorithm calculated based on the number of MPs, PDL was entitled to nearly three places in the new Board of SRTV, in fact 2.87 – to be more precise, UDMR to one, UNPR would have received one place from PDL, PSD would have had three places and PNL two.
