Ukraine Tymoshenko trial put back till after Euro 2012

A second trial of Ukraine’s opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko has been adjourned until 10 July – after the European football championship, BBC informs. The tax evasion trial was postponed in the presence of high-level envoys from the European Union. Separately, an appeal hearing against Tymoshenko’s current prison sentence was postponed until 12 July. The EU has accused Ukraine of prosecuting her for political reasons.
