Electronic medical prescriptions come into effect today

The electronic medical prescriptions for medicines comes into effect today, according to an announcement made Friday, in a press conference, by Dr. Marius Filip, the chief of the National House of Health Insurances (CNAS). From now on, physicians will prescribe medicines both electronically and on paper (the traditional way), and starting January 1, 2013 the only prescription that will remain in effect will be the electronic one. Family physicians complain that they have not received yet the software that would allow them to log into the database of CNAS, and expect to see how things will go after July 2. Medicines may be purchased of a fractionate manner, from several pharmacies. In the first month after the enforcement of the electronic prescription, CNAS expects to assimilate in the new system some 10 pc of prescriptions, and to increase this percentage to 40-50 pc within the next two or three months.
