Romanian branch of Ruukki exports metal products to Saudi Arabia

Ruukki Romania, a branch of the Finnish metal parts producer Rautaruukki, will manufacture at his factory of Bolintin Deal most of the products included in a EUR 10 M contract signed by the group, for the construction of a smelter in Saudi Arabia. According to a press release, the contract is signed with Outotec, the company that will develop in Saudi Arabia a unit that will produce ilmenite (a mineral used in the production of titanium), for Cristal Global, the second largest producer of titanium dioxide. This is the biggest order taken by the Bolintin Deal factory, in its existence. Last year, the company posted record results in Romania, announcing a 70 pc increase of its business, due to an increase of its activity in the segments of metal structures and parts, roof systems and special steel. The output and deliveries of metal structures for the new contract will start this autumn and will be completed in the spring of 2013. The Finnish company made in Romania its largest greenfield investment in Europe, worth EUR 35 M, for a production center.
