National Film Archives turns 55

The National Film Archives (ANF) is 55 years old today, an opportunity for four 1957-made Romanian films, two feature films and two shorts (one documentary and one animation) being shown today from 18.00 hours at  the Eforie Cinematheque, according to a press release. All of them feature great Romanian film stars at the time. Admission is free.The program of the event is as follows: A Brief History (Director: Ion Popescu Gopo), Two Lots (Directors: Gheorghe Naghi and Aurel Miheles), The House on Our Street (Director: Mircea Saucan) – narrator: Radu Beligan and Eruption (Director: Liviu Ciulei).The ANF stores nearly 46,000 films of all genres from 65 countries and two halls, Eforie Cinematheque –Jean Georgescu Hall (Str. Eforie nr. 2) and Union Cinematheque – Paul Calinescu Hall (Str. Ion Campineanu no. 21), both refurbished and with a seating capacity of 250 and 130.
