Net salary down 1.5 pc in May, against April

The average net salary decreased by RON 23 in May, or 1.5 pc, against April, when many employees received Easter bonuses, and reached RON 1,530, with the highest salary of RON 4,325 being registered in the oil and gas extraction industry, and the lowest (RON 845) in the hotels and restaurants sector, the National Statistics Institute (INS) reads in a press release.The decline of the average net salary in May 2012 was influenced by lower output, incomes (depending on contracts), financial difficulties and lack of orders experienced by some economic units. Compared to May 2011, the average net salary increased by 4.9 pc. The index of the real salary against the same interval of last year was 103.1 pc.
