Music and theatre conquer the street

The fifth edition of the Experimental Theatre Festival MAN.in.FEST and the second edition of I.O.I. (Interactive.Original.Imprevizibil) Fest will take place between July 13 and 15, in Cluj-Napoca, according to adevarul.ro.The 2012 edition of the festival will bring together famous artists from six countries. The festival surprises by using unconventional spaces like the Turda salt mine, which will host a special event of this edition.MAN.in.FEST International Experimental Theatre Festival targets a wide audience, as experimental theatre does implies no restriction concerning the cultural message. The festival shatters all kinds of barriers, with free access to its open-air shows. This year’s edition of MAN.in.FEST focuses on the evolution space of the human being, in huge – but representative – jumps, from the mythical cave to medieval castles to the urban landscape of today.The I.O.I. Festival will include theatrical shows, many concerts of national and local artists, three recitals of classical music and two of jazz, a vintage clothes fair, the varnishing of a photo exhibition and a choreographic performance.Friday, July 13, starting 8.00 PM, as part of I.O.I Fest, the Piata Unirii Square of Cluj-Napoca will host the Freeze theatrical company (improvisation theatre), the Quartz Quartet (jazz concert), and the Hazard band (with Aminda).Saturday, July 14, starting 8.00 PM, the public is invited to attend the performances of the D.A.D Theatre, the orchestra of the ‘Sigismund Toduta’ Music College (classical music concert), the ‘Octavian Stroia’ College of Choreography and Dramatic Art, the Scale Crew of Tdance (dance show), the Natif and Luna Amara bands.Sunday, July 15, starting 8.00 PM, the stage will belong to Just.Push.Play – interactive theatre, the ‘Sigismund Toduta’ Music College (classical music concert), the Mood Quartet – jazz concert, Ionut Mangu and Ioan Onisor, and the Byron band. Access is free to all the events of the festival.
