Group health insurance market may go beyond EUR 1.5 bn by 2016

The group health insurance market may exceed EUR 1.5 bn by 2016, Alico Asigurari Romania anticipates, saying that such trend will also be supported by healthcare reforms and trusting its market share would reach 25 per recent, says insurance company head Theodor Alexandrescu in a press release. ‘The demand for private healthcare services in Romania continues to grow and the infrastructure of private clinics and hospitals develops at high rate, seeking to compensate for shortcomings in the public system’, Alexandrescu states.  Alico has released a group health policy providing to employees financial protection in case of illness. The product is addressed to employers who are able to buy such health insurance policies for groups of maximum ten workers. The premiums paid are deductible expenses up to the limit of EUR 260 per annum. The claims settles last year to employees by Alico Asigurari in the group policy segment doubled compared to 2010.
