Cernavoda-Medgidia motorway segment will open for traffic next week

The Cernavoda-Medgidia segment of the Cernavoda-Constanta motorway will open for traffic next week, but only on half of total number of lanes, in regime of national road, the Romanian National Company of Motorways and National Roads (CNADNR) announces in a press release. According to the Company, the formal event in which the Cernavoda-Medgidia motorway segment will open for traffic is scheduled for July 19, at 11.00 AM, at the Cernavoda road hub. Minister of Transport Ovidiu Silaghi announced earlier this month that, starting July 20, drivers will be able to cover the entire distance from Bucharest to Constanta without leaving the motorway. He added that the ministry is pleased with how the contractor works and, although the deadline for Cernavoda-Medgidia is at the beginning of next year, the motorway might be finalised earlier.
