The number of new cars registered in Romania increased, in the first half (H1), by 5 per cent, to 33,000 units, whereas the EU market shrank by 6.8 per cent, because of the difficult economic situation in France and in south of Europe, based on the data provided by the Association of European Car Manufacturers (ACEA). Thus, the registrations of new cars in Romania advanced from 31758 in the first half of last year to 33,343 units in the first half of 2012, based on a press release issued on Tuesday by ACEA. The EU market shrank by 6.8 per cent from 7.13 million to 6.64 million deliveries. Germany, the most important European economy, continued to pose growth, with 0.7 per cent raise, to 1.63 million new cars registered.
