Ponta to inform MPs about the answers to EC questions

Premier Victor Ponta yesterday announced he would present Parliament today with the answers conveyed to the European Commission to the 11 questions asked by EC President Jose Manuel Barroso. “Yesterday, I answered the 11 questions asked by the president of the European Commission on Romania, I have already conveyed the answers, and, actually, I understand that tomorrow I will present Parliament, too, with these answers, which is absolutely normal. (…) What I am absolutely sure about – and I will also tell Parliament that tomorrow  – is that we must keep fulfilling the conditions required by the European Commission, yet, what is most important is to create a justice system beneficial to Romanians,” Mediafax quoted Ponta as saying. It’s worth noting that the Chamber of Deputies Standing Bureau on Wednesday rejected the Democrat-Liberal group’s request for Victor Ponta to inform the Chamber plenum over the 11 points discussed at the European Commission, with the Lower House Speaker Valeriu Zgonea, saying the request was non-statutory.
