Two new segments of Sun Highway are to be open for car traffic, Cernavoda – Medgidia, and Medgidia – Constanta respectively, according to realitatea.net, as well as the traffic on highway Bucharest-Ploiesti (A3). Premier Ponta and Transport Minister Ovidiu Silaghi is going to attend the two events. Even if the highway is not completed fully, because traffic is allowed only on one lane on Cernavoda – Medgidia, the opening from Thursday is very important, considering that this highway has been awaited for years and it would facilitate the travel to sea for the thousands of tourists to travel this summer at the seaside. Also, it is extremely important for the merchandise transport between Constanta Port and Bucharest.
