State gets portion of King Mihai’s Savarsin property

His Majesty King Mihai I lost six hectares of land from the domain of Savarsin, according to RTV.net. Judges at the High Court of Cassation and Justice ruled in state’s favor, after the Timisoara Court of Appeal had decided that the land claimed by King Mihai I to go back to him. The state nonetheless challenged the verdict on appeal and won. The royal family has been restoring both the castle and the park since 2001. King Mihai I bought the 7th century-built Savarsin Castle in 1943. Five years afterwards it was seized by communists, along with the other royal property assets.
