Philippe Lhotte, CEO of SG Expressbank AD, Societe Generale’s Bulgarian branch, will become CEO and temporary administrator of BRD Groupe Societe Generale on September 1. “The board meeting of BRD-Groupe Societe Generale, meeting on July 27, at 1 PM, decided to appoint Mr. Philippe Lhotte as temporary administrator and general manager of BRD-Groupe Societe Generale, starting on September 1, 2012. Mr. Philippe Lhotte served as chairman and CEO of SG Expressbank AD, Societe Generale’s branch in Bulgaria. Mr. Philippe Lhotte’s appointment as temporary administrator and general manager is conditioned by the approval of the National Bank of Romania, in line with the legal provisions in force,” a report that BRD sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) on Friday reads. The bank announced last Monday that Alexandre Paul Maymat will no longer become BRD CEO, citing personal reasons. Maymat was set to become CEO after Guy Poupet stepped down. On Friday BRD summoned a company shareholders’ general assembly meeting for September 13, a meeting in which Lhotte will be elected administrator for a four-year term. The bank also proposes empowering Bunescu to sign, on BRD’s behalf, the administration contract with Lhotte.
