Romania, a net exporter of thermal insulated panels for first time ever

In the past couple of years, the market of thermal insulated panels has been dominated by imports. The situation now changed thanks to massive investments by multinational and local companies from the production centers in Romania  According to the Association of Romanian Manufacturers of Panel and Profiles (A3PR), 2011 was the first year Romania acquired the status of net exporter of thermal insulated panels, which are go mostly to regional markets, according to a press communiqué. The main panel manufacturers have steadfastly invested in local production development, on the back of increased demand from industrial and retail sectors. Exports totaled nearly 1.5 M sq m of panels, while imports were in the region of 1 M sq m.  “Both the retail and industrial sectors have seen a constant development, which led to increased panel production at local level,” Marian Pirvu, A3PR president, said. A3PR member companies include ArcelorMittal Construction Romania, Coilprofil, Isopan, Lindab, MBS, Megaprofil, Plannja, Plastsistem, Ruukki and Topanel.
