Mehedinti prefect’s daughter resigns National Pedagogical College director’s post

Marian Suta, general inspector of the Mehedinti County School Inspectorate (ISJ) yesterday afternoon told the Mediafax correspondent that Irina Draghiea, daughter of Mehedinti Prefect Nicolae Draghiea, tendered her resignation from the post of director at the National Pedagogical College in Drobeta Turnu Severin on Thursday, around noontime. The school’s assistant director, Paula Dobroiu, took over Irina Draghiea’s duties.Education Minister Ecaterina Andronescu announced that earlier that Irina Draghiea, who was on a television program early this year, will be revoked from the post of director of the Pedagogical College in Drobeta-Turnu Severin. Asked who would be name in Draghiea’s place, Antonescu said that issue was up to the Mehedinti County School Inspectorate. The daughter of the Mehedinti Prefect, Irina Draghiea, on Wednesday was appointed to the post of director of the National Pedagogical College in Drobeta-Turnu Severin, by general school inspector Marian Suta. Unhappy about the replacement of the former director, nearly 30 professors at the said school signed a petition expressing their support for former director Laura Butaru, saying they had not been consulted about the change. The petition was tendered to the Education Ministry. Early this year, Irina Draghiea was the protagonist of one of the editions of the “Bachelor” television show.
