Patriarchy warns over bogus Internet religious services

In a press communiqué, the Romanian Patriarchy warned over the emergence on the Internet of some false religious services rendered by individuals who claim being servants of the Church.  “Considering the growing number of persons induced into error and who incurred  material losses after they requested Internet and advertised services by so-called servants of the Church, the Romanian Patriarchy specifies that religious services (Holy Secrets and blessing sermons) are only officiated in churches and the homes of the faithful by officially recognized local priests,” the release states. Also, the Patriarchy urges priests to prevent communities over the risks they expose themselves to by asking for such services.
