Protest at the Bucharest Health Insurance House

Dozens protested yesterday in front of the Bucharest Health Insurance House, against the poor way things are organised, which forces them to wait for long hours before obtaining documents that demonstrate their status of contributors. They need the papers when they go to hospital. The explanations refer to technical issues, such as a problem with a server, so all data processing operations were transferred to backup servers and the processing speed is low. Dozens of contributors thus had to wait for long hours, Wednesday morning, for the documents they needed from the House.“I need a paper for my son, who is diagnosed with diabetes and must enter the programme, and we could not do it without this approval. The last person that underwent surgery had the number 34, and I am 171,” a woman said.“There is a technical problem with the server which hosts the data base, which came during a period of peak accessing of the IT system, respectively the reports of medical services provided in view of being paid by the House, reports about the electronic prescription and the transfer of data bases to ANAF. The processing speed is slow. I cannot say if we will extend the working hours or not,” said Cristina Calinoiu, spokeswoman of the Bucharest Health Insurance House, quoted by Romania TV.
