Peninsula Festival set to start

The festival celebrates its tenth edition with bands such as The Straits and ATB.

The Peninsula 2012 Festival will take place on August 23-26 in Targu Mures, in the vicinity of the Weekend Centre. On its tenth edition, the festival will feature renowned artists. To mark the tenth edition, the festival’s organizers have halved the price of tickets, the discount offer expiring on August 1. After that date, in order to spend four unforgettable days alongside their favorite bands and most renowned DJs in the world the festival’s fans will have to pay RON 140. The price of a one-day ticket will stand at RON 60. These prices will be in force during the festival too. The sale of tickets started on May 15 throughout the Eventim network and on the www.eventim.ro website. Day one will feature artists such as Zdob and Zdub, Republic and The Straits. Day two will bring on the stage the following bands and artists: Rotfront, Vita de Vie, Kistehen, the best-known Hungarian reggae band, LB 27, Martin Knowles a.k.a. Emalkay, Travka, Mystery Gang, Mike Godoroja & the Blue Spirit, Electric Fence, Val LAVILLE and Horace Dan D. Day three will feature the following bands: New Model Army, Netsky, N.O.H.A., CTC (Deliric1, DOC, Vlad Dobrescu), Cedry2k and Carbon, Besh o droM, Akos, Suie Paparude, Irie Maffia, Alvin es a Mokusok, Sarmalele Reci, Gojira & Planet H and Rehab Nation. The final day of the festival will feature Children of Bodom, ATB, Josh Gallahan, Babylon Circus, Subscribe, Shukar Collective, Subotage, Dirtyphonics DJ Set, colorStar, Firkin, Marcian Petrescu & Trenul de Noapte, Trooper, Compact Disco, VotSka and DJ Optick. Festival Park, a project for civic organizations and public institutions, will be organized during this year’s edition. Festival Park will take place throughout the festival and will feature a series of interactive competitions and games designed to combine informal education and the participants’ entertainment. Festival Park is an event prepared by the festival’s organizers in collaboration with the PONT Group, its central theme this year being “Meeting Point for 2020 – Let’s Imagine the World in 2020.”
