The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) hails the decision of the French government to relax the conditions of access to its labour market of Romanian and Bulgarian citizens, along with the “constructive” treatment granted by French authorities to the integration of ethnic Roma population. “The decision made by the Paris government reflects the viability and opportuneness of applying the European principles regarding the free circulation of citizens and the full achievement of workers’ mobility on the Single Market,” reads a press release posted on the MAE website. In this context, MAE reaffirms the entire availability of Romanian authorities to identify and implement – jointly with the French partners – the projects regarding the social insertion of the Roma population. “The solutions to this process must be found at national scale, but equally in European context and with European support,” the Ministry believes. MAE also hails “the French authorities’ intention to analyse the possibility of lifting in advance all the restrictions regarding the access of Romanian and Bulgarian workers to the labour market of France.”
