4.4819 RON/EUR, the lowest level of the past seven weeks

The national currency continued along a slight apreciation during the inter-banking session of Friday so that National Bank of Romania (BNR) released a reference rate down by RON 0.51, to RON /EUR 4.4819, which is the lowest level of the past seven weeks. RON depreciated slightly as against USD, the reference rate advancing by RON 0.01 from RON 3.5729 per USD 1 to RON 3.5739 per USD 1. The official rate for the Swiss franc decreased slightly, from RON /CHF 3.7362 to RON/CHF 3.7323. The national currency appreciated by the end of the session to its lowest value of RON/EUR 4.47 and dealers thought that the central bank indirectly sold EUR in the inter-banking market which supported the RON evolution.
