Mechel Campia Turzii plant could lay off 800 employees more

Mechel Campia Turzii plant informed the local authorities from Cluj that they were considering laying off other 800 employees and only 238 persons shall remain in the plant, prefect Ioan Vuscan saying that he was preparing a meeting with the board of the plant where PM Victor Ponta to participate also. The prefect of Cluj County said that the new collective dismissal was considered by the Russian major shareholder because of absence of orders following that as of June 799 persons were laid off. The union leader Ioan Pascu believes that the intention of Mechel board is to “leave Romania”.
