Yesterday marked the Day 1 of the autumn session of the high school graduation examination <baccalaureate>, following a summer session with a passing rate of 44.41, one of the lowest ever, after the complaints were addressed. A number of 99,111 candidates yesterday took the Romanian Language written test, at 304 centers. Today, they will take the maternal language and literature test, followed by the mandatory profile test, tomorrow, August 29. The last test – optional profile and specialization – will be taken on August 31.The Romanian language and Literature test requirements included commenting on a poem’s first stanza, an argumentative type test about efficient work starting from a couple of ideas suggested by Lucian Blaga’s statements or an essay on a candidate-read novel’s view of world topic and vision. This baccalaureate session, too, was peppered with rather unpleasant events given seven candidates were eliminated yesterday from the Romanian Language test in the counties of Timis and Bistrita-Nasaud, having been caught with electronic devices on them, or trying to copy. In Alba Co, three candidates were eliminated from similar reasons.
