Ghetea (CEC) and van Groningen (Raiffeisen), most media extensively covered CEOs

Radu Gratian Ghetea – president of the CEC Bank and of the Romanian Banking Association (ARB), Steven van Groningen – president Raiffeisen Bank Romania and of the Foreign Investors’ Council, and Mariana Gheorghe – CEO Petrom, had the most media coverage of the CEOs in Romania, according to a MediaTrust study published yesterday. With respect to the tone of the press coverage, the study shows that Alexander Adamescu (CEO Astra Asigurari) and Mariana Diaconescu (Asirom VIG) had the highest number of negative appearances during May – August 2012. With the most numerous positive media appearances, Stefanos Theocharopoulos – CEO Cosmote and Romtelecom. ‘Overall, there were 6,984 articles that quoted companies headed by the CEOs in the MediaTrust report’. The companies that appeared most frequently in the news were from the banking sector (2,961), auto industry (1,521), fuel (1,071), telecoms (1,060) and insurance (371). The MediaTrust report relies on media appearances (information and commentaries) where appeared the names of CEOs of the companies selected among the economic sector leaders. The study did not take into account promotional and advertising materials.
