Capital readies for International Street Theatre Festival

Over 20 troupes from seven countries will offer performances to Bucharesters at the 4th International Street Theatre Festival B-FIT in the Street!

ArCuB is organizing the 4th edition of the International Street Theatre Festival B-FIT in the Street! Sept 13-16.  For four days, the Constitution Square, George Enescu Square, the Coltea Park, The 21st December Square (the Artesian Well at the University of Architecture) Union Square and the Historic District and all the boulevards in central Bucharest  will be the venues  for theatre performances.According to an ArCuB release sent to Nine O’Clock, more than 20 tropes from seven countries (France, The Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and Romania) will offer Bucharesters attractive and interactive shows that will bring a fairy tale atmosphere in the Capital and will transform it into a colourful universe where  artists juggle with most diverse arts to offer a surprising melange of emotions and reflections. The famous VOALA company, made up of a group of experimental visual artists brings to Bucharest the Muare production – an aerial acrobatics show originally combining corporeal motions and ultramodern technology into an artistic concept with great visual impact. LA FURA DELS BAUS, a legend of street theatre, with over 30 of experience in the field and 50 prizes to its credit, will present The Hidden City/The Giant and the Angel in the Constitution Square, Sept 16, a performance inspired by Bucharest’s spirit and architecture. The show combines pyrotechnical effects and aerial acrobatics. Also performing at this edition, the celebrated DAVID MORENO with the Floten Tecles show where the artist plays several instruments while he along with his piano are suspended six meters above the ground. Many more artists including Antagon (Germany), Senza Tempo (Spain), Cie entre terre et ciel (France), Les Snob (France), Aromatic Company (Switzerland), Teater Tol (Belgium), Les Geants du Sud (France), Planet pas net (France), Het Mobiele Naaiatelier (The Netherlands), Sam Shine (The Netherlands), Les Clandestines (France), Cirquet Confetti (Spain), Les Enjoliveurs (France), Popol (France ) are on the festival bill and will perform throughout central Bucharest, from the Union to Romana Square, George Enescu and Constitution Square. Romania is represented by the acrobatics troupe XTREME PROJECT to perform the Vertical Tower, and by the Parade of Bucharest Samba Schools on Saturday, Sept 15 and Sunday, Sept 16, from 20.30 hours along the route Union Square – Constitution Square.
