CSM bosses spent record-sum on trips abroad

The Superior Magistracy Council  has published the sums spent by its members on trips abroad from January 1, 2012, until the end of July, luju.ro informs. The sums that CSM President Alina Ghica and CSM Vice President Oana Schmidt Haineala spent on working trips abroad totalled RON 60,000, more than the money spent by all other CSM members combined. The CSM bosses went “hand-in-hand” on trips everywhere, spending identical sums: in Belgium, where the CSM delegation met European Commission officials (RON 3,789.18 each – editor’s note), in Denmark, at the informal summit of the Council of Justice and Home Affairs (RON 4,632.01 each – editor’s note), in Hong Kong at the conference titled “An old challenge, a new approach: fight against corruption in a changing world” (RON 14,985.15 – editor’s note) and in Luxembourg at the Justice and Home Affairs Council (RON 6,551.11 – editor’s note). Since it surpassed the budget for some of these trips, the CSM leadership was forced to look for extra-budget resources, luju.ro says.
