The shortlist with proposals for a private manager of TAROM national airline, sent by the recruiters of ‘PwC – B&D David si Baias – George Butunoiu’ to the Ministry of Transport, features well-known names of the aviation industry. However, among the 24 candidates that enter the race, there is only one Romanian: Laurentiu Andrei Mezei (39), general manager for Netherlands with TAROM, according to TIRMagazin.ro. Among the names proposed for the position of executive Board member there are Mark Darby – CEO of Swiss airline FlyBaboo, Finn Thaulow – CEO of FlyMe Europe, Vidas Zyinys – former president of the Lithuanian Airlines, Tero Taskila – president of Estonian Air, Piero de Angelis – area manager West Africa with Spanair, Kim Flenskov – interim executive vice-president with DACH &Scandinavia – ICTS Europe Holdings, Amsterdam, Frederic Pralus – deputy president Royal Flight of Oman, Edouard Christian Heinzmann – president AviaFix, Pedro Lopes – Airbus A320 Fleet Manager with SATA Internacional. The short list sent to the Ministry of Transport contains 24 names, one of which will be appointed by the Ministry this week.
