Three days of Portuguese film at Romanian Cultural Institute

On September 19-21 the ICR headquarters of Bucharest, 38 Aleea Alexandru will host the 5th edition of the Days of Portuguese Film, an event organised by the Camoes Institute in partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR). According to a press release posted on the ICR website, this year’s edition is special, also because it will enjoy the participation of the Embassy of Brazil, invited to enrich the Portuguese-language film experience of the Romanian public. The festival features recent movies, made during the last decade, which depict – through a documentary or fictional approach – the actuality of countries like Brazil, Angola or Portugal, which share the same language. This is why the cinematographic event has as alternate title ‘The days of Portuguese-language films.’ Except for the last evening, the festival schedules three projections a day, including ‘The year my parents went on vacation’ by Cao Hamburger, Brazil’s proposal for the ‘Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.’ The movies will be subtitled in Romanian. Entrance is free, within the limit of available places, reads the ICR press release.
