The volume of loans granted by CEC Bank reached RON 11.2 bln at the end of August, up from RON 10.5 bln at the end of last year, of which 40 pc are loans to population, the president of the bank, Radu Gratian Ghetea said in a press conference yesterday, quoted by Money.ro. In the structure of the loan portfolio, 7 pc are loans for local public administrations and 53 pc were granted to SMEs and corporations.”(…) Within five years, the loan portfolio of the bank tripled, and against this background the structure changed from 80 pc to 40 pc individual customers, but 40 pc now means more than 80 pc then,” Ghetea said. He explained that, according to statistic data pertaining to the banking system, CEC Bank ranked third in the system after Q1, with a quota of 7.84 pc based on assets. Among others, CEC Bank is the first bank in the EU that can transfer money via the MasterCard MoneySend service to owners of MasterCard or Maestro cards. The CEC Bank customers that have MarsterCard cards can send money from ATMs to anyone in the country or abroad that owns a MasterCard or Maestro card, with the maximum sum that can be transferred each month being RON 4,500. The service is still unavailable in some states of Western Europe.
